This is the 1st time that i've ever been the first person to review an item, mainly, because i like to read other people's opinions before taking the plunge. However, my Laptop was ancient and plagued with overheating problems, so i needed something reliable, and yesterday. Having received a quantity of vouchers for Christmas, i decided to put them towards the cost of a new PC. I didn't want to spend many hundreds, but at the same time, didn't want something that wasn't upto the Job.
I decided on this Compaq, as i'd had one before i replaced it with my Laptop, and it gave me many years of trouble-free service. I have only been using it for a few hours, but already, i love it! The build quality is excellent. The Duel Core E7500 rated at 2.93ghz is plenty fast enough for anyone that just wants to surf, listen to music, edit photo's etc. The Graphics Card is an Nvidia G210, which offers far better visuals than i was expecting for a PC of this price. Obviously serious gamers would require a more powerful Card, but for every day use, it's more than acceptable.
I'm still finding my way around the new Windows 7, but 1st impressions are very good.
Obviously, it's too early to write a more substantial review, but first impressions are very good, and i don't regret this purchase one bit.
I must also praise Amazon for their unfailing endeavour. I ordered the Item at 1615 on Mon, received an email notification of dispatch on the Tuesday Morning, and it arrived excellently packaged at 1300hrs wednesday 27/01/10. Well done Amazon!

I'm very happy with this desktop. The only think it lacks is Bluetooth which I have on my laptop - otherwise it is quick, straightforward and a nice machine. Having got used to it, Windows 7 is also good.

Hi,
my recent purchase of a compaq computer was a bitter sweet experience the price was great the spec of the machine was ideal and the speed of the delivery service was exellent however
upon opening the computer i found the discription of the monitor that was portrayed in the ad on the web sit was totally different to that of the actual monitor that was sent in the delivery i was very dissapointed as i feel that amazon being one of the largest online retailers should have checked there ads and product spec very care fully i saked if the correct monitor was availiable and i was told that an enquiry would be made . I have never recieved a reply and i was never given an apology or a poroper explanation i have lost alot of confidence in amazon now when it comes purchasing.

We had this computer for 4 months and we thought it was fantastic until all of a sudden the operating system packed it. The numbers we were given to call were useless. We spent over £60 on phone calls trying to sort out the problem, only to be hung up on on numerous occassions when they didn't know what to do. They then wanted to collect it to fix but as we're british forces serving overseas this wasn't possible and would cost us even more money getting it sent special delivery to uk to be collected and sent back by a family member. Was extremely stressful and would never buy a computer off here again and would warn people thinking of buying this computer as there is also another review on here with someone who has had the exact same problem!

For those thinking of purchasing this product, a word of warning. Mine arrived perfectly, however the HD was currupted, and I had no operating system at all. I had to send it back, but recieved a full refund. If it works, a worthy purchase, but given my experience, I would be wary as to the reliability of this product.
