This is the second of these computers that I buy. I bought the first as an entertainment center, and I was pleasantly impressed with the performance and how quiet it is. I have since decided to start replacing the desktops in my office with these units. I employ 7 programmers and these small units unclutter the desks and the office, make it a lot more silent - since they make no noise at all - and reduce my energy bill because they consume 60 rather than 300 watts. These may not be suitable for intense gaming, but they are very fast and powerful machines. More than they need to be, for emailing, web surfing, text and spreadsheet processing and application programming.
Hooked up to my 50" plasma it play HD movies flawlessly even though the movies are stored on an external networked hard drive. Did I mention I am accessing the network wirelessly? Yep, it's that good.
Windows 7 is a great operating system, 250 GB Hard drive is more than enough storage and the hard drive is already partitioned so you do not lose your content if you need to format. The 2 GB of RAM that it comes with is enough for everything you will want to throw at it, but you do have the capability to expand to 4 GB.
The one thing I do not like is the mouse and Keyboard. The range is not as good as it should be and the quality is median at best. They look great, but are underperformers. You may want to replace these two items with a better quality mouse/keyboard set if you are going to use it as a desktop replacement, or buy a smaller all-in-one keyboard/trackball combo better suited to a media-center, couch-based operation.
