I was very anxious about using the new version especially when so many people have criticised the new ribbon feature. I must admit I contemplated for ages whether or not to make the leap - I have now upgraded my software and I'm really happy!
It actually doesn't take too much getting used to - everything I used before is still there and imporantly for me I can still use my old keyboard shortcuts (e.g. for saving, printing etc). I think I (like many people probably!) was secretly quite determined to hate the new ribbon menus but the ribbon feature (that replaces the drop down menus) actually DOES save time! It's a big selling point for the new version and I think if you give it a chance, you will really love using it! I find myself now doing a lot of things that I never thought of doing before; like changing the size of space between paragraphs in Word for example, which is now just a question of one mouse click.
I don't think people should worry too much about being able to re-learn the new software - in my opinion it's pretty much the same old Microsoft Office we all know and love - it just looks a bit different and if you give it a chance, there's plenty to benefit from!
A great tip I can offer anyone who is still feeling anxious is to go to You Tube and browse all the previews and tutorials - this will give you an excellent idea of what to expect from the new software, how different (or similar) it is to the old version and whether upgrading is the right decision for you!

Just updated from 2003. what a brilliant programme, easy to install and very easy to use. I am not a professional user so this is great for us silver surfers to have. easy to install, easy to follow.

My grandaughter is so pleased with her Home Office and as she is only 11 years old she finds the tutelage easy to follow and use. She is now becoming a real expert and is learning new things every day. A great learning experience for people of all ages.

Office 2007 was installed and verified by Microsoft then when I went to use it the 2010 version loaded. This has to be the most user friendly office package sold by Microsoft. And I would give it 10/10 for the easy update to the latest version as well.
